Expert administrative mode
Oh, I was sure that you choose expert mode! Let us set our requirements to create a fully featured web-site. We will need a structure management interface, a templates management interface and we should be able to edit content of each site document. Also we need a tool to manage our site services. What about structure management, this task is enough traditional and there possibly will not be a lot of questions. Templates management in SAPID CMS designed to fit XML Sapiens specific features. Template defines the way our documents look like. Presentation code format may be HTML, WML, XML or other. In this code we need to place pointers to XML Sapiens objects. I mean placeholders for document's editable areas, common content blocks, DDC (Dynamic Data Container) and system variables. Detailed description of these blocks you may find in the system's documentation. Use Templates tab to manage your templates. Modules interface is designed to manage system modules. You can edit existing modules to fit your needs or to create your own. XML Sapiens technology designed to unify description of functional modules for different CMS's and does this using system functions, so called CMS-applications. These functions can be managed using User functions interface. Also, you can find Statistics interface to watch your site visitor's activity.
Let us discuss SAPID administration interface. In a common case, at a window top a main administrative toolbar with links to system interfaces displayed. A bit lower additional administrative panel with links to secondary services placed. Note that here is a status bar at a top right corner. It contains Edit, View, Logout or Save, Cancel and Logout buttons according to current document state. Remember that SAPID uses direct editing, i.e. you browse your site and, if needed, use administrative interfaces. At any time you can click View button to view current document. Edit button turns document into an editing mode, use Save and Cancel buttons to save or discard changes made to document content. Click Logout button to leave administrative area. Ok, let's begin with structure management interface. Next
